Thomas J. Maroney

We are proud and honored to announce this year's Grand Marshal, Thomas J. Maroney. Tom is a first generation Irish American, born in Syracuse of Patrick Maroney and Jean Meaney, both of County Claire, Ireland.

Tom is married to Dr. Mary Katharine  (Mary Kay) Brough  Maroney  since  July 11, 1964. Mary Kay is the “ Distinguished Emerita Professor and Director” of  Nursing at Utica College, Utica, NY. Tom is a graduate of Syracuse University College of Law, where he also became a Professor, specializing in Constitutional law, Federal Court Jurisdiction, Civil Rights and Criminal Procedure. They have three children and six grandchildren.

Tom is a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Commodore John Barry Division, in Syracuse. He served in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Fayetteville Fire Department, as a Volunteer Member and Fire Police Officer.
